There is something very appealing about small objects handcrafted from wood, especially in this age of 'connected' gadgets. Sometimes it's nice when the only connection is the feeling of natural material in the hand, a momentary return to classic values over 'progress'. Design studio and workshop, Sebastian Cox, seems to agree, having created a collection of desktop accessories made from pieces of British wood, too small to be made into furniture but too beautiful to throw away.
The new collection comprises dishes, trays, pen rests and pots as well as a candle holder made in an array of dark, light and coloured British hardwoods. Small items are priced at £22.00 and large items cost £28.00, available through the Sebastian Cox website and showroom in south east London.
