Ladurée's 'Back to School' Treats
Beats freshers week and no hangover: Ladurée is celebrating the return to school with a new pastry and packaging. We have the 'chou croquant de praliné' which is a sweet cream puff pastry with a crunchy praline (mon Dieu), and the pretty, decorated boxes in that sweet baby chick yellow and clean white have names: Louise and Julie. These new treats are the latest addition to the 150th Anniversary collection, which I am determined to pick up in its current incarnation when I'm in London next month - I wonder what's planned for October?
And available from September 28th is Alber Elbaz's contribution to Laduree's designer collaboration collections: eight pink bubble gum-flavoured macarons presented in a bag featuring Elbaz's sketches of Lanvin and Laduree-lovin' ladies, all tied up in a red grosgrain bow.
And it's been awhile since I've been through Heathrow's Terminal 5, but it seems this has been there as of spring to offer some comfort to weary travellers:
At least I hope it's a permanent fixture. If so, friends and family will be getting a taste of Paris when we come home for Christmas! (Though it may be a matter of 'One for you, one for me'.)
