Layering is great, but you don't have to take it quite so far...
The changing of seasons brings a period of transition, making it an ideal time to rethink your style. Now that the summer dresses are gone, heavier coats and jackets will be gradually decorating the city streets (or maybe even today, it is cold outside here and the weather isn't the only thing that's bitter!). Fight the gloom by taking the opportunity to rediscover yourself, starting with the simplest way to refresh your look: accessories. A pair of off-the-catwalk sunglasses, a gorgeous handbag or an exclusive Panerai watch, will inject some new energy into your style.
Mixing Clothes
Summer is over and so the wild tropical prints are about to be banished to the back of the wardrobe (in my case, where I keep the clothes I've convinced myself I will fit into again one day), in favour of the cozy, deep shades of winter. For indoor celebrations, elegant gowns and dresses are always appropriate, and for the office environment, getting dressed in a tailored suit jacket with a fitted, well-cut skirt will actually make you want to go to work. The combination of smart and sexy is a difficult look to achieve, as it usually goes too far one way, but with a good eye and some fashion sense anyone can find the perfect balance.
Wearing a blouse, something with a touch of feminine flair like a lace-trimmed collar, will complement a classic-cut jacket and offers a look that is professional and fashionable all at once. A leather jacket on top of a cotton jumper is another set that makes a great textural mix
. Jeans are usually suitable for most occasions and we all have our beloved pair we've worked in perfectly, but in my opinion they are not
always the best choice. If jeans are your automatic go-to, you could be killing your personal style. Another big trend this season are
Wellies. Today we're spoilt for choice for colours, patterns and styles which allows us to take them beyond weather-wear and into our outfits as a key piece.
Accessories
Everyone can benefit from some kind of accessorising but the key is not to overdo it. A pair of simple earrings, a silver ring and a piece from the
Richard Mille watch collection would be the perfect combination for a luxurious look. I like to keep the jewellery very minimal, with one or two good pieces to stand out, otherwise you run the risk of looking like an accessories shop display!
