Cupcake Monday! Passionfruit, Parfait & Mini Choc Ice
My favourite indulgence right now, and since the first time I had it, is the Cafe Gourmand at Gareth James Chocolatier which has become a kind of second home (best mochas ever!). This tasting plate straight out of my dreams features a white chocolate parfait with a coulis and granita of passion fruit (below) which was so good I could have eaten a bucketful, but that wouldn't be very elegant; a mini 'choc ice' which is a decadent dark chocolate dipped ice cream on a stick; a mini raspberry chocolate brownie (a special version of their now famous plain brownie); all rounded off by your choice of two truffles - you cannot go wrong with any of them - and one of their newest creations, a strawberry mallow which they now sell separately in little boxes (I may have to walk home more often).
I was in today for an after-school treat with Baby Swelle to satisfy a mocha craving, and am back in on Friday with my lovely friend and fellow adorer Katherine, we're doing the Cafe Gourmand and I have a feeling she won't be as greedy as my daughter.
I was so into this plate that I ate some of the 'pebbles' in the shot glass. Oops.
A spoon fight over the parfait ensued.

I need to go there. I will have to plan a sweets pilgrimage to the UK.
