I know it's a bit late to offer Halloween costume ideas although this may be of some help to anyone who hasn't got it together yet and has a party to attend. But I just love the 'Costumes Without the Horror' polyvore sets that Retro Chick put together. Above is Stepford Wives featuring Yoana Baraschi dresses. It kind of suits my tendency to go with something that isn't very costumey, if last year's Little Edie ensemble is anything to go by. I think I see Halloween as more of a chance to dress as I wish I could, or had the guts to, every day - very girlie in the retro sense rather than the frou frou and frills kind of way. And anything that includes cupcakes wins me over at first sight of pink icing.
Speaking of Retro Chick, I've decided to give her the second Swelle Award because her blog looks gorgeous and she works hard at her posts, providing a variety of DIYs, retro style, ethical fashion and yummy treats all presented with personality and great imagery. There's something very energetic about it all, minus the chaos. I think she's created a winning format with her new look and enticing content - it's just a treat to visit. So be sure you do!

Love this polyvore set! Not that I"ll be dressing up for Halloween, but you could probably even get away with wearing this on a normal day out. Thanks for your post on Tokyo FW by the way... I adored those looks. Makes me realize how much I want to go to Japan again...
By the way, I left an award for you at my blog... have a lovely weekend!

Aw, thank you for my award!
That's made my daty :o)
I'm glad you like the Polyvore sets, I liked the Stepford Wives one best too. Mostly it's an excuse to take cupcakes...

I love these super cute, lady-like stuff. And those cupcake soaps! I found a store in Toronto that sells just that. Tvala, I think is the name - on Queen St. West. Hope you had a great Halloween!
