Beautiful Vintage Lingerie Will Never Get Old
One of the most gorgeous things to look at is vintage lingerie in delicate, dusty pastels and nude shades. And if layers upon layers of embroidered silk and tulle are involved and finished with slouchy stockings and floral garland neckpieces then I do believe I have been given a glimpse of heaven. I'm not alone, right? Even paint manufacturers have caught on - just today I was looking through a Crown catalogue and saw that their 'Flawless Powders' collection of shades is inspired by 'delicate female tailoring' with names such as Corset, Gentle and Etiquette.
Milan fashion week has barely begun and already I think Antonio Marras' collection based on this timeless and most feminine and sultry way of dressing will be my favourite of the week, if not the whole shebang.

I'm losing my mind with how gorgeous some of these are... so amazing. Thanks for sharing, you have such fabulous taste!
Love,
Jaime

I've always fantasized about a job naming colors. I've had a long-standing fascinating with such things! I even wrote a little story when I was at the Wall Street Journal about how people name lipstick colors. Those are my favorites.

Where's the vintage lingerie? I see none on these models.

Shelley,
It wasn't meant to be a letdown - if you read the post you'll see that I was talking about the beauty of vintage lingerie continuing to be an inspiration for designs today, such as this incredible collection from Antonio Marras. 'Beautiful vintage lingerie never gets old' - as in the idea? The reference point?
Or if you meant you don't see lingerie - it's there either as camisoles, bras and knickers/briefs which you can see through the sheer outfits, among others.
I wouldn't tease!
Jaime - you are too sweet!
Wendy - I'd like to read that article! Now, if I could get a job where my only responsibility was to name colours I would consider going back to the office.
Jennine - I agree, we need more of this!
PinkBow - dreamy, beautiful and ethereal - what can beat that?

These are really beautiful - but what do you think about the hosiery? Sometimes "yes" sometimes - "hmmm" - always "are there garters involved here somewhere, or tape?"

Kim - I actually like the hosiery a lot, but it wouldn't be very practical, would it? It's more like leg warmers because it's footless, and if I knew I could walk without having to pull it up every two steps I'd wear this look in a heartbeat. But most likely they'd wind up in the toe of my shoes!
