I Was a Three Year-Old Austin Powers
Today is my birthday. And as a weird homage to myself I'm sharing this photo taken when I was three years-old in which I bear a striking similarity to Austin Powers. Of course that goofiest of characters didn't exist then but the likeness is undeniable, right down to the teeth. Good thing those fell out.
In what is an act of mere vanity, I'm showing a photo from the following year when I was four, and looked more normal - a 'proper' little girl in a cute dress. Does this redeem me? (I must admit the makeover was fleeting. Soon after my mom bought me polyester tartan jumpsuit - enter the Bay City Rollers phase.)
What this says most to me is that in addition to being a former little cutey pie you had a very organized mother who got you into fancy outfits and out to the photographer's studio every year. I read a line in a poem or a novel once (can't remember which) where the author described her childhood as one in which se was "well-fed and fully photographed." Me too. And you? Looks like it.

Thank you so much, everyone! It sure was a low-key birthday what with just getting over strep and having to take it easy in preparation for traveling, but I was with family here in Canada and I don't have any family in England so it was really nice. No worries at all, Sofie!! Thank you for the text singing!
