The video for American independent designer Holly Stalder and her vintage lace wedding shrugs grabbed my attention right away. Holly works in what I think is the most gorgeous colour palette for vintage laces - ivories, beigey-greys, and pale pinks, the faded softness of which capture the 'from another time' look so beautifully (with a little black thrown in here and there). I love the idea of these dainty, detailed shrugs worn with a tank and skinny jeans, especially as I'm not planning on getting married again (which my husband will likely be relieved to hear).
Holly also makes tops and tanks adorned with her unique vintage finds that she gets from estate sales, Ebay and by deconstructing dresses from the 1950s, as well as dresses for all occasions, including bridal - which are sometimes perfect left as they are (a good designer knows when not to add!). She takes custom orders and still, you'll find her prices are very reasonable. Another thing I love about Etsy - you get a one-off piece made with love, that you love, without having to admit to yourself "uh, I think I was just violated,'' as we sometimes feel in the shops. Before I go and join the strikers in Paris to shout about the wonders of Etsy in the streets, I'll let you see the video:

D - how beautiful are these shrugs by Holly?!
Gosh, like I am literally conjuring up an outfit in my head now!:-)
We should have Holly & her work at ASOP!:-)
BTW - I never knew you had an Etsy shop! Do your talents ever end?
Luckie.

Sigh. I really wish I knew about this when I was planning my wedding day attire. So beautiful.
