The September Issue

Vogue_film

A film...about Vogue! RJ Cutler spent eight months inside the Vogue offices in New York getting over 300 hours of footage for The September Issue, invited by Anna Wintour, of course - this is no thinly veiled fictionalised account of a disgruntled former assistant (although I did enjoy reading and watching The Devil Wears Prada, much more the latter for the fab clothes and the scenes of New York and Paris. Loved Emily Blunt).

We'll have to wait a bit, it screens at Sundance this weekend and Anna Wintour will be showing her support by attending. WWD reports that the film delves into Wintour’s relationships with her late father, legendary British newspaper editor Charles Wintour, and daughter Bee Shaffer, as well as with creative director Grace Coddington who was resistant before finally giving in to the filming.

Featuring prominently in the film is Thakoon Panichgul (this is his time, isn't it?) and it wouldn't be complete without appearances by fashion influentials such as Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Stefano Pilati.

Cannot wait for this one, I love seeing 'inside' fashion and I find the Vogue dictatorship quite fascinating. Please, please come to the UK.
