Prim, Pretty and One-of-a-Kind

This gorgeous pearl collar with silk bow tie is just one of the creations by Chelsea of Prim Things that will make you lean forward with widened eyes and say 'Oooh, I want that!' (This may not include my father should he be reading but I think it's safe to say the girls will be unanimous in their lust for this accessory). She's posted instructions for the collar on her blog, and the end product is a testament to her commitment - those beads take several hours to sew, but as we can see, it's worth it. (I love the texture of the beads so tightly clustered together - I want to eat those beads or run my fingers over them. I think the latter might be the safer option.)

Keeping with the style but creating an entirely different look is her painted cameo collar with metal spike embellishments - sweet and tough all at once. Never mess with a girl who knows style. What a great piece. Chelsea is planning to do more cameo collars, including working with leather. We eagerly await...

Tights as a Blank Canvas

If that wasn't enough, look at these stunning hand-painted leggings. After discovering a love of fabric paints (something I've dabbled with in my mind and now I'm either inspired to get on with it or completely intimidated, I can't decide), Chelsea used the small Dylon paint pots to transform simple white tights into a beautiful work of art with one extraordinary, finely detailed, peacock feather. Wow.
