Christopher Kane Provides the WOW Factor at London Fashion Week

ChristopherKane_4

Christopher Kane was inspired by Planet of the Apes, The Flintstones, Raquel Welch in One Million Years B.C. and Dian Fossey and her gorillas, in that order. And he likes dinosaurs, too. The scallop shapes materialised from an obsession with scales. This is one of the few times you can actually see the influences in the design and the details! Looking through the show I felt as if I was at Tate Modern browsing the collection - Kane's study of the half-circle reminded me of Josef Albers' fixation with the square. And it's nice we can still depend on Kane for bright bursts of colour to keep things light. He's fun, eh?
