About Me

The Swelle Life is now three and a half years old, though that feels like dog years. In a good way! This blog and boutique (see that big square under the banner) are a collection of beautiful things to see, ponder, explore and wear.

When I began writing TSL it was a bit different, as all things evolve. I wrote more and there weren't really any (good) original images. I still love to write and have been freelancing for a few years, but in the past year I've taken to creating my own images with photography. Because I just have that much free time! So this blog is now that much more personal, and encompasses not just fashion (which is how it began and still includes my shots from London Fashion Week and sometimes Paris - my True Love - when I can get over) but interiors, art and architecture. And food, pretty food. I got a bit tired of Cupcake Monday after one full year of weekly posts and stopped. Then a flood of tear-stained emails soggied up my inbox and I got back to it. So hey, if there's something you really like about what I do, let me know beforehand, eh?!

Oh, and I'm Canadian and am living in England with my wonderful husband whose patience encompasses the universe (the opposite of me), and the most awesome daughter ever. I miss home like mad, but things have happened here that never would have if not for my world being turned upside down. I'm still waiting for it to right itself, but it's been interesting, to say the least. (No way I'm calling this 'a journey' - that cliche makes me want to vomit with rage!)

I can't seem to stop drinking Coke so if you have any tips, let me know. Although I think if that's the worst thing I do it's really not fair to have to give it up, is it?
